Werder Bremen 0 Bayern Munich 2: Robert Lewandowski’s second-half quick-fire double sees Carlo Ancelotti’s men over the line
The German champions follow up their opening day victory over Bayer Leverkusn with three more points
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI'S late, quick-fire double earned Bayern Munich a hard-fought win against Werder Bremen.
After a tense first half in which both teams had chances, it looked like the reigning Bundesliga champions might drop points in just the second match of the season.
But Lewandowski eventually broke the deadlock 18 minutes from time — and added another three minutes later for good measure.
Carlo Ancelotti welcomed back Manuel Neuer for the first time since April, but was without Renato Sanches, after the midfielder asked to be omitted from matchday squad to 'concentrate on his future'.
Bayern started the contest much stronger and Corentin Tolisso hit the bar after just seven minutes.
