Watford defender Miguel Britos sent off for awful challenge on Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert midway through first half
Uruguayan is already under pressure with reported arrival of Kieran Gibbs and future looks more bleak after this
MIGUEL BRITOS has been sent off for a horrific challenge on Anthony Knockaert.
With just 24 minutes on the clock Watford were down to ten men — giving Brighton hope of getting their first ever Premier League win.
With Kieran Gibbs reportedly on the brink of joining the Hornets, this could be telling for Britos.
Knockaert was causing the Uruguayan all sorts of problems down that right side.
And, with the Frenchman racing down the line, Britos flew in with both feet off the ground.
The referee showed no hestitation and whipped out the red card, while Knockaert was lucky to avoid a career-threatening injury.
Twitter was quick to react with Watford fans claiming Gibbs couldn't come soon enough.
And football fans in general condemned the 32-year-old for the horrendous tackle.
