WILLIAM CARVALHO's move to West Ham is still very much an ongoing deal despite reports it was off.
The Hammers have been in a battle with Sporting Lisbon throughout the summer for the midfielder.
Reports from ExWHUemployee via his column The West Ham Way state the club are frustrated with the progress of the deal but have not given up hope.
The dilemma of the transfer is that Sporting have been tough to negotiate with so far which has caused a major hold up.
The deal for the 25-year-old was rumoured to be completed on Thursday with Slaven Bilic confirming he was confident about it.
But by Friday it had all backfired with Sky Sports reporting that the transfer of Carvalho to the London Stadium was completely off due to the clubs unable to agree a fee and the fitness of the player.

The Portuguese club had reportedly set the bar at £40million for Carvalho.
West Ham have now left Sporting with an ultimate for the transfer of the player and look to line up other options in the mean time.
Despite Sporting trying to hold off, Carvalho has made it clear he wants to leave the club this summer.
But with the transfer window closing on Thursday 31st August, time is running out.
