Super agent Mino Raiola dares Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona and ‘prove your greatness’

SUPER agent Mino Raiola has told Lionel Messi to “prove your greatness” and leave Barcelona.

The Argentine forward has been with the La Liga giants all of his career but has still yet to pen a new deal at the Nou Camp.

Messi has verbally agreed to extend his current contract, which only has one year remaining, but has still not put his signature on paperwork.

Manchester City were rumoured to be plotting an audacious move to reunite the 30-year-old with his former Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

And Raiola, whose list of clients includes stars Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku, believes it is time for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to take on a new challenge.

And despite his past accomplishments with the Catalans, the Dutch negotiator says he has to prove his talents elsewhere to prove how great he truly is.

Raiola told : “A player like Messi must try another experience with a different club and prove how great he is.

“Barcelona must be reinvented again.”

Messi is Barca’s all-time leading goalscorer and has helped them to win 29 trophies.

Meanwhile, Raiola has also given his opinion on Neymar’s world-record £198million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG, backed by the wealth of their Middle East owners, activated his release clause in his Barca contract to lure him to the French capital earlier this month.

Raiola said: “The market, as such, no longer exists. Now it is countries who are signing players and that isn’t football.

“But transfers of €200m are going to be normal from now on, it won’t be crazy to see that.”
