Shkodran Mustafi out to leave Arsenal for Inter – and Italians also want Manchester City flop Eliaquim Mangala
Both central defenders could be on their way to Serie A as Inter launch a late splurge into the transfer market
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is thought to be pushing to leave Arsenal as Inter Milan hover in the last days of the transfer window.
The Italians are also keeping a keen eye on Manchester City flop Eliaquim Mangala.
And, according to Inter want to sign both players.
Germany defender Mustafi has been a key part of Arsenal’s squad since his £35million arrival from Valencia last summer.
But his future has come under scrutiny in the past few days.
When asked about Mustafi, Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger kept his cards very close to his chest - and didn't rule out an impending move.
Wenger said: "It’s difficult for me to speak about any individual cases because we are now in the final seven days of the transfer market.
"It’s always very difficult to predict what will happen there.

"You have to make quick and sharp decisions, and you cannot plan that and come out in the press conference with how you will respond to any solicitation."
Mustafi finds himself fighting with a number of defenders for a few place in the team.
In contrast, he will be virtually guaranteed a place in the Inter side.
It seems Inter are hoping to convince Arsenal to accept an initial loan deal with an option or obligation to make the move permanent.
Interest in both Mustafi and Mangala sees Inter manager Luciano Spalletti preparing for a late splurge in the transfer window.
Inter are yet to match the spending expectations set last year when new Chinese owners took over the club, while their rivals AC Milan have spent over £150million on new players.
City are holding out for a permanent sale of Mangala, who cost them £32m from Porto in 2014.
The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Valencia.
But Inter hope they can negotiate a loan deal to take him for this season.
