PSG had appeared to be willing to let Draxler leave if the right bid came in for him this summer

But German channel Sky Sports say they have spoken to the agent of the highly-rated winger who insists the 23-year-old is not ready to leave Paris.

Roger Wittmann is Draxler will not be leaving PSG in the summer transfer window.

Instead he says the man who captained Germany to Confederations Cup success in the summer will be staying to fight for his place.

That news will come as a blow to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has been a long-term fan of Draxler.

He showed interest in signing him from Wolfsburg before he eventually joined PSG, and had made him an option if Alexis Sanchez quits the Gunners for Manchester City.

PSG hade made it known they would be willing to listen to offers for Draxler as they need to cut some players from their wage bill.

Arsenal had been looking at Draxler in case Alexis Sanchez moves to Manchester City

Wenger had been contemplating making a £32m offer to sign Draxler, amid doubts over the future of Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Emirates.

There were also suggestions Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was planning to make a late move to sign Draxler before the window closes at the end of the month.

Liverpool thought Draxler would make a good replacement if they lose the battle to keep hold of Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona’s continued attempts to sign Philippe Coutinho look likely to rumble on, and Klopp knows he would need a replacement lined up if the Brazilian does leave.

Talk of an imminent bid grew earlier this week when Wittmann was spotted at Anfield, although the agent also looks after Reds star Roberto Firmino.
