Chelsea ‘enquire over availability of former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel’ as talk of rift with Antonio Conte won’t go away
Blues may have notched up impressive first win of season at Tottenham, but all is not well after frustrating summer
CHELSEA have made an enquiry into the availability of Thomas Tuchel, according to reports in Germany.
Antonio Conte led the Blues to the Premier League title last season but has endured a torrid summer, having missed out on his top targets and failing to hide his frustrations with the Stamford Bridge board.
A difficult off-season appeared to have been put to bed following the impressive away win over last season's runners-up Tottenham at the weekend.
However, it has done little to repair Conte's relationship with the Blues hierarchy.
The past two previous title-winning managers — Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti — were sacked the following season.
He replaced Jurgen Klopp at the Westfalenstadion in 2015, but struggled to compete with Bayern Munich.
Last season he won the German Cup — his first trophy — in his final match for the club.
Reports in Germany suggest he would be interested in a move to Chelsea as long as his family can settle in London.
