Arsenal to offer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain four-year £125k-a-week deal to fend off Chelsea interest
Arsene Wenger reportedly sanctions whopping new contract extension as the Gunners attempt to keep hold of their England international with Antonio Conte plotting swoop
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN will reportedly be offered a bumper four-year deal by Arsenal to fend off interest from Chelsea.
The England midfielder has less than 12 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates as rumours persists he will exit before the end of the month.
However, the claim that Arsene Wenger has sanctioned a new £125,000-a-week package to keep the ace at the Gunners.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte had made the 24-year-old former Southampton man one of his main targets.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is believed to have been previously offered wages of £100,000-a-week by Emirates chiefs, which he rejected.
He is understood to be tempted by a switch across the capital to the Blues.
But Arsenal now believe that he will accept their latest proposal to extend his stay.
The news would be a welcome boost to Wenger following their mixed start to the new Premier League season.
