Aaron Ramsey curse: What is it and what has Arsenal and Wales star said about it?
Many social media users have a long-held and disturbing theory about Aaron Ramsey
AARON RAMSEY is a key man for Arsenal and Wales, and loves to get on the scoresheet.
But when Ramsey's goals come with a dark and mysterious curse... if you believe what you read on social media user.
Here is all you need to know about the theory of the Arsenal and Wales star's curse.
What is the Aaron Ramsey curse?
There is a theory that when Aaron Ramsey scores, a well known celebrity is doomed to pass away soon after.
First was Ted Kennedy, who died on August 25, 2009 - three days after Ramsey scored against Portsmouth.
But the theory of the curse really came to the fore in 2011.
First, Osama Bin Laden died a day after the Welshman scored against Manchester United, and the same year Steve Jobs and Colonel Gaddafi died in the days following Ramsey goals.
In the past six years, the likes of Whitney Houston, Paul Walker, David Bowie and Richard Attenborough have all supposedly succumbed to the 'Ramsey curse'.
The most recent 'victim' is Bruce Forsyth.
The 89-year-old Strictly presenter died a week after Ramsey netted in Arsenal's 4-3 opening day win over Leicester.
What has Ramsey said about the 'curse'?
Aaron Ramsey opened up about the theory in an interview with Sport magazine in 2015, calling it "ridiculous".
He said: "The most ridiculous rumour I’ve heard is that people die after I score.
"There have been loads of occasions where I’ve scored and somebody has died."
But he also put a positive slant on it, appearing to point, in particular, to the deaths of Gaddafi and Bin Laden.
Ramsey commented: "That’s just a crazy rumour. Although I took out some baddies!"
