Sergi Roberto: Manchester United and Chelsea target set to quit Barcelona following Paulinho’s big move from China

CHELSEA and Manchester United target Sergi Roberto will reportedly leave Barcelona following the arrival of Paulinho.

AS claims the Spaniard fears he won’t play this season after Ernesto Valverde splashed the cash on the ex-Tottenham flop.

Roberto graduated Barca’s academy as a midfielder but has spent most of his senior career playing at right-back.

However, his route to the team via that position has also been blocked after Nelson Semedo was signed from Benfica.

Roberto had been hoping the Portuguese’s arrival meant a move back into the centre of the pitch.

But now that Paulinho is at the club, his chances of playing regularly look slim.

That’s good news for Chelsea and United though, with both teams said to be keen on bringing Roberto to the Premier League.

He has a £36milion clause in his contract, which could be a bargain for either side considering his versatility.

However, the English duo will have to move quick as they face competition from Italy.

Free-spending AC Milan believe Roberto is the missing piece to their elaborate Chinese jigsaw.

While Juventus have been scouting him for some time and feel the time is right to bring him to Turin.
