Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere wanted by Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez as midfielder accepts he will be moving on this summer
Ace was left out of squad which beat Leicester and is also being chased by West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth
RAFA BENITEZ has stepped up his bid to sign Jack Wilshere — after it emerged the midfielder is resigned to leaving Arsenal.
Wilshere believes his days at the Gunners are numbered after being left out of the squad for Friday night’s 4-3 win over Leicester.
Boss Arsene Wenger stated the 25-year-old is not totally fit after fracturing his leg in April. But Wilshere has told friends he IS ready — and available for selection.
A source told SunSport: “Jack is fit. He is raring to go but has not been included in the squad.
“Wenger told the public that he isn’t ready but Jack is feeling in top condition.”
Benitez is fuming with Newcastle’s lack of transfer business and has told the club to pull out all the stops to get the England man.
Wilshere’s preference is to stay at Arsenal and he has dropped to the Under-23s in a bid to prove himself.
But he is coming round to the reality that his future lies elsewhere.

West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are also interested — along with Roma, Juventus and Lazio.
Wilshere’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he could be available for a cut-price bargain.
