Everton and Southampton fighting it out for Club Brugge’s Belgian youth prodigy Noah Fadiga
Premier League clubs join Serie A outfits Roma and Genoa in the chase for 17-year-old son of heart-scare former Bolton star Khalilou Fadiga
EVERTON and Southampton are battling it out for Belgian whizkid Noah Fadiga.
The 17-year-old is the son of heart-scare former Premier League star Khalilou Fadiga.
Youth international Noah has shone for hometown side Club Brugge since bursting onto the scene.
He remains under contract until 2020 but that has not deterred Goodison and St Mary’s chiefs.
However, they will face a fight to secure his services as Italian outfits Roma and Genoa are both interested in bringing him to Serie A.
The winger joined Brugge from arch-rivals Anderlecht back in 2015.
His father spent two-seasons in the English top-flight with Bolton over a decade ago.
But he had a defibrillator fitted after collapsing during a game in 2004.
Fadiga senior, who represented Senegal in the World Cup, did make a return to action despite medical warnings.
He was warned that he could die on the pitch if the device was hit in a collision.
That did not stop him going on to play for Derby County and Coventry City before announcing his retirement in 2011.
Discussing his son’s talents, 42-year-old Khalilou said: “Noah has the same skills and mindset that I had.
“But he is faster than I was, and he scores more goals as well.”
