Pep decided to take youngsters Diaz, and Foden, but not Sancho

Pep Guardiola decided not to take the winger to the US amid his refusal to sign a new contract and subsequent transfer speculation over a move away from the Etihad.

Now, he is allegedly being pursued by Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, who both rate the England U-17 international highly, according to the MEN.

Sancho watched on as his fellow young team-mates Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz impressed in pre-season.

Diaz scored against Real Madrid and Spurs, while Foden was described as a “gift” by Guardiola.

The youngster Sancho doesn’t see a clear path to first-team football, so is prepared to ply his trade elsewhere.

Reports have linked him with a move abroad to Red Bull Leipzig, but the allure of a short trip across Manchester may be too great.
