Arsenal and Spurs join chase for teenage French striker Yann Karamoh, the new ‘Kylian Mbappe’
North London rivals join list of clubs interested in 19-year-old Caen forward who is considered one of the hottest young talents in Europe
TOTTENHAM and Arsenal have joined the race to sign highly rated French teenager Yann Karamoh.
The North London rivals are said to be keen on the 19-year-old forward, who has been dubbed the next Kylian Mbappe.
Karamoh was born in the Ivory Coast but has played for France U21s twice.
Last season he scored five times and provided four assists in 25 Ligue 1 games for Caen.
The French club reportedly value him at £9 million, although have not received an offer close to that figure yet.
The teenager can play on the right wing or through the centre, leading to comparisons with Monaco's hotly sought-after star Mbappe.
Karamoh is understood to have refused to sign a new contract and, with just 12 months left on his existing deal, Caen are open to selling.
New Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino is keen to sign Karamoh as a replacement for Jay Rodriguez, who joined West Brom.
