Manchester United fans bury team shirt under Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium

Video posted on Twitter shows workmen laughing as they hide Red Devils jersey under Tarmac in car park at home of their arch rivals

CHEEKY Manchester United-supporting workmen have buried a Red Devils shirt under the Tarmac at the home of their arch-enemies Manchester City.

A video posted on Twitter shows the labourers laughing and goading their local rivals as the red replica jersey is submerged.

The workmen appear to be resurfacing a car park alongside the Etihad when they add the shirt, from the 2008/09 season, to the mix.

"Go on Dave," says one of the fans as the driver of the lorry starts to reverse towards the jersey.

Another of the pranksters is heard to say "under your car park, you blue b******s," as the gravel starts to cover the famous red shirt.

It is not the first time United-supporting workmen have secretly left memorabilia in the home of one of their rivals.

Last year a Red Devils fan hid a old United shirt and two figurines of Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs in the roof of the expanded main stand at Liverpool's Anfield stadium.

The items remained in place for an upcoming match between the two fierce rivals.

United have also been on the receiving end.

Liverpool-supporting labourers working on the mansion of United legend Gary Neville claim to have buried a Reds scarf under the former England full-back's swimming pool.

Neville said he wanted to scarf to be burned if it was ever discovered.

Meanwhile down in London, a West Ham fan claimed to have hidden a Hammers scarf in the foundations of Tottenham's new 61,000-seat stadium.
