Bayern Munich confirm Chelsea interested in signing Renato Sanches as Antonio Conte holds talks with Carlo Ancelotti
Sanches has struggled in Germany since his move from Benfica last summer and the Bundesliga champions will let the teenager go out on loan
CHELSEA have made a late bid to sign Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches from under the noses of AC Milan, the German champions have confirmed.
Milan looked to have stolen a march on their rivals and were close to landing the teenager who has struggled in Germany since his £30million move from Benfica last summer.
But the Premier League champions have got in on the act and have enquired about taking the midfielder on loan.
Sanches, 19, featured for Bayern in the 3-2 International Champions Cup win against Chelsea on Tuesday.
And his performance was good enough for Blues boss Antonio Conte to check out his availability.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed they will allow the Portuguese international to go out on loan, with Stamford Bridge now an option.
Rummenigge told : “There are at least 10 teams after Sanches.
“Conte asked for some information about him after Tuesday’s game because he knows he can make the difference on the pitch."

Rummenigge added: “Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea so we can make some reasoning on him later.
“Almost certainly we’ll let him leave just on loan, we still count on him.”
Sanches made just 17 Bundesliga appearances last season and is keen get more games this term ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
Conte is on the lookout for another midfielder as Nemanja Matic looks set to depart and join Manchester United.
The Blues have already spent big this summer with the arrivals of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger.
