Chelsea keen on Renato Sanches as Antonio Conte enquires about Bayern Munich ace and Manchester United target
Portugal youngster looks set for a move to AC Milan - but Conte asked about him after defeat to Bayern on the weekend
ANTONIO CONTE has made an enquiry about Bayern Munich youngster Renato Sanches.
The Portugal teenager had looked set for a move to AC Milan but that switch appears to have stalled this week.
And Chelsea boss Conte asked Carlo Ancelotti about him after the midfielder impressed in the friendly defeat to Bayern at the weekend.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport that the conversation took place at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Sanches will be allowed to leave following the £35million arrival of Corentin Tolisso from Lyon.
Milan have opened negotiations with a view to signing him in a two-year loan deal.
Manchester United are also interested in the 19-year-old, who joined Bayern on a five-year deal from Benfica last summer.
The Red Devils were weighing up a move for the midfield ace last summer but were pipped to a deal by Bayern.
Sanches is under 21 which would boost Conte's squad as Premier League rules limit clubs to 17 non-homegrown players over that age. But there is no limit on players under 21.
The Blues boss is looking for a midfielder as Nathaniel Chalobah has left and Nemanja Matic will be allowed to leave.
