Xabi Alonso and wife Nagore Aranburu enjoy family holiday in California after Spaniard’s retirement from football
XABI ALONSO has been enjoying his post-retirement period with a family holiday to California.
The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star has been checking out Los Angeles with his glamorous wife Nagore Aranburu after hanging up his boots.
The pair have been sunning it up, with strolls along the LA beachside and have had pictures taken on the steps of one of California's iconic coastguard huts.
Alonso has also been surfing along the state's iconic coastline, famous for catching waves.
Alonso and Aranburu were married in 2009 and have had three children together.
And after Alonso quit Bayern at the end of last season - alongside team-mate Philip Lahm - he has had more time to spend with his children.
Alonso, 35, might be able to catch his former club Real Madrid in action in their pre-season friendly against Manchester City tonight.
Or he could have a rendezvous with his former Bayern manager Pep Guardiola, the man who brought him to Bayern Munich in 2014, who now manages Manchester City.
Alonso was also part of Liverpool's famous team that won the 2005 Champions League final after going 3-0 down to AC Milan before half time.
But most significantly, he was part of Spain's team that won the World Cup in 2010.
