Harry Kane believes Spurs have what they need to make an even stronger title challenge next season after finishing as runners-up last year

HARRY KANE insists he would never quit Tottenham in search of a megabucks pay deal.

But last season’s Golden Boot winner has no desire to grab a slice of the pie.

Kane, 23, committed his long-term future to Spurs last December when he signed a 5½-year deal worth up to £120,000 a week.

That is  less than half Romelu Lukaku’s £250,000 weekly haul at his new club Manchester United.

But the England striker said: “Football for me isn’t about money. I’m  at Tottenham because I love this club and I see it going in the right direction.

“I feel we are one of the best teams in England and Europe, so I’m excited for the future ahead.

"Everyone knows I’m a Spurs fan and that’s where I want to be for the foreseeable future.

“I have a great relationship with the manager and the fans.

“At the end of the season I expect us to be up there fighting for that title again and hopefully we can turn some of our ambition into wins.”

Kane has not scored a league goal for Tottenham in August in the past three years, but after a tournament-free summer he is confident he can hit the ground running next month.

Kane told ESPN FC: “I had four weeks this summer and  just really relaxed and recharged the batteries.

“I don’t know if playing in tournaments have made a difference. I want to start every season in the best possible way but it doesn’t always happen. Hopefully this year will be different.”

Spurs have yet to add to their squad, but midfielder Christian Eriksen is happy they will not break the bank.

The Dane said: “I don’t think you need to spend to win anything.

“I can’t see why we shouldn’t do  even better than last season. We have the feeling something special is on the way.”

Kieran Trippier has seen off Kyle Walker at Tottenham — and now he wants his England World Cup slot.

Trippier, 26, bagged a five-year deal  following Walker’s move to Manchester City and is dreaming of Russia 2018.

He  said: “I will take my opportunities. My dream is always to play for England.

"I have had a taste of it and I am hungry for more. Next year’s World Cup is a target for me.”

Kieran Trippier was speaking at an event with members of Special Olympics — the world’s largest sports organisation for people with intellectual disabilities.
