Bayern Munich 0 AC Milan 4: Patrick Cutrone scores twice along with goals from Franck Kessie and Hakan Calhanoglu as Italians thrash German champs
Bundesliga giants had already lost to Arsenal in China and now suffered a heavy defeat thanks to a Patrick Cutrone double
BAYERN MUNICH'S horror pre-season campaign has continued on Saturday... as they were thumped 4-0 by big-spending AC Milan.
The German giants had already lost to Arsenal in China and now suffered a heavy defeat thanks mainly to a Patrick Cutrone double.
The AC Milan youngster, 19, netted twice in the first 45 minutes after Franck Kessie had given the Serie A giants the lead after just 14 minutes.
Carlo Ancelotti had named a strong side for the clash, including huge names including Mats Hummels, David Alaba, Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski.
But Milan tore them apart in the opening period as teenager Cutrone put them to the sword.
The Italians were showing off a couple of new signings, including former Premier League flop Fabio Borini and ex-Wolfsburg man Ricardo Rodriguez.
But it was much-wanted Kessie who got the San Siro side underway - after he snubbed Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal in moving to Milan from Atalanta.
Cutrone - who played just once in Serie A last season - was handed a chance to lead the Milan line.
And the move paid dividends as he scored twice in 18 minutes against the Bundesliga champions.
Hakan Calhanoglu completed the rout with just five minutes to go - despite James Rodriguez coming on as a half-time sub, after his two-year loan deal from Real Madrid.
It's the latest bit of good news for AC Milan, who not only managed to keep Gianluigi Donnarumma at the club for at least another five years, but also made the shock signing of ex-Juventus stalwart Leonardo Bonucci.
Milan are also in talks to sign sought-after Andrea Belotti from Torino and are in the running to take Renato Sanches away from Bayern Munich.
