England blow as Karamoko Dembele will play for Scotland AGAINST Three Lions this month
Celtic wonderkid is at the centre of a tug-of-war between the two countries but appears to have picked Scots
KARAMOKO DEMBELE will play for Scotland AGAINST England this month – but could still change his mind on his international future.
The Celtic wonderkid, 14, is at the centre of a tug-of-war between the two countries and the Scots have made an early breakthrough.
Dembele burst into the limelight when he played for Celtic’s Under-20s as a 13-year-old.
His prodigious talent attracted interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United before signing a deal with the Hoops last month.
And he has snubbed a move south of the border again as he is set to play for the Scots in an Under-16 tournament against England, Qatar and Uruguay at the end of the month.
Dembele is understood to have agonised over the decision but reckons he has made the right choice as his development has been in Scotland.
England have invited him to St George’s Park to play him in youth games – and has twice featured for the Three Lions' U-15s side, against Turkey and Belgium.
Ivory Coast were also keen on securing the youngster's services.
