Newcastle and Crystal Palace considering move for Adrian after West Ham signed Joe Hart on loan

NEWCASTLE and Crystal Palace are reportedly set to go head-to-head to sign goalkeeper Adrian.

The Spaniard is on the lookout for a new starting job after being squeezed out at West Ham.

The arrival of Joe Hart on a season-long loan will strip the Spaniard of the number one keeper spot according to .

And with the World Cup just a year away, Adrian has been told he needs regular playing time to stand a chance of suiting up for Spain.

Adrian finished last season as Slaven Bilic's top choice stopper and the Hammers activated a clause to keep him at the club for two more years.

But with his future at West Ham now in doubt, the 30-year-old has become the target of the Premier League rival clubs.

Palace have targeted Adrian after Steve Mandanda returned to Marseille last week.

Adrian arrived in London in 2013 from Real Betis.

He earned to starting job by the end of his first season and has made 123 appearances for the club.
