Manchester United target Ivan Perisic named in Inter Milan’s squad for pre-season tour of China and Singapore
United had hoped to wrap up deal for Croatian midfielder before he flew out to the Far East with Inter
MANCHESTER UNITED'S hopes of wrapping up a deal for Ivan Perisic this week have been hit after he was named in Inter Milan's squad to tour the Far East.
United have been desperate to complete a £44million transfer for the Croatian winger this week as Jose Mourinho starts to prepare his squad for the start of the new season.
And Perisic also hinted he wanted the move to be given the go-ahead to prevent him having to fly out to China with the Italian club today.
But the Serie A club have shown no sign rushing to push through any agreement, and instead they have confirmed the midfielder is part of the 28-man touring party to China and Singapore.
Managed Luciano Spalletti has decided to include Perisic in his plans while his bosses haggle with United over the asking price for the Croat.
It is a blow to United, with manager Mourinho wanting to have as much of his transfer dealings done as soon as possible in order to be fully ready for the opening day.
And the 28-year-old has also made it pretty clear he wants to get the move to Old Trafford sorted sooner rather than later.
He left the Inter pre-season training group last week to fly back to his homeland for dental work, before being due to report back today ahead of the flight to China.
But he hinted he was keen for the United switch to be resolved to stop him having to fly back to Italy when he posted on social media a symbol of a plane with a prayer emoji.
Mourinho has avoided getting drawn into a public chase for Perisic, claiming he had no idea what the latest news was after the club's pre-season 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake.
But he will be keen for executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to push through the deal soon without the need for Perisic having to fly around the world in a short period.
United have so far signed two players this summer, with Victor Lindelof coming in from Benfica and Romelu Lukaku snapped up from Everton.
