The England youngsters had a perfect record in the European tournament - beating Bulgaria, Netherlands and Germany before progressing to the latter stages.

On Wednesday, the Under-19 side managed to grind out a gutsy 1-0 victory over Czech Republic to secure their place in the final.

Aston Villa defender Easah Suliman nodded home the opener on Saturday after a set-piece from Chelsea's Mason Mount rattled the woodwork.

A sliced own goal from Chelsea's Dujon Sterling levelled the scoring for Portugal just before the hour mark.

However, Manchester City forward Lukas Nmecha redeemed the advantage for Keith Downing's side following a super assist from Mount.

The 2-1 victory in Gori makes history as the England squad proudly win their first ever European Under-19 Championship.
