AC Milan want Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich in stunning loan move with view to permanent deal
Young Portuguese midfielder has struggled to make an impact in Bavaria and could now be heading for riches of Milan
AC MILAN are reportedly in talks to sign Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches.
Sky Sports claims the midfielder is wanted on a season-long loan with the option to buy for £35million.
Sanches only joined Bayern a year ago from Benfica after leading Portugal to their Euro 2016 triumph.
But the youngster struggled to make an impression under Carlo Ancelotti, who preferred the likes of Xabi Alonso and Arturo Vidal.
Sanches’ chances of first-team football have taken another hit following the big-money arrival of Corentin Tolisso.
And it now seems Milan are ready to rescue him from his Bavarian hell by making an impromptu swoop.
The Italians have been splashing the cash left, right and centre following a takeover by a Chinese consortium.
And Milan would now like Sanches on board as they look to dethrone long-term Serie A champions Juventus.
Vincenzo Montella has already overseen a number of big-name arrivals this summer, including Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez.
Hakan Calhanoglu, Lucas Biglia and Franck Kessie have strengthened the midfield, with Andre Silva arriving to lead the line.
But the capture of Juventus stalwart Leonardo Bonucci is arguably Milan’s biggest coup, with the world-class centre-back joining for a bargain £30m fee on Friday.
