Cristiano Ronaldo has only ‘one friend’ left at Real Madrid after summer exits of closest pals
Pepe, Fabio Coentrao and James Rodriguez all left Los Blancos this summer
CRISTIANO RONALDO has only ONE FRIEND left in the Real Madrid squad, according to reports in Spain.
The superstar has frosty relationships with a number of his team-mates and after a summer of sales, CR7 could be struggling for conversation next season.
His closest mates, Portuguese internationals Pepe and Fabio Coentrao are gone - with Pepe leaving on a free to Besiktas and Coentrao is on loan at Sporting Lisbon next season.
James Rodriguez has also left for Bayern Munich on a two-year loan, ahead of a permanent move.
That leaves Marcelo as the only close friend Ronaldo has in the Real Madrid squad.
The report even claims that Ronaldo 'feels on his own' when he travels to the Valdebebas training ground.
While Jose Mourinho was in charge, a huge rift in the dressing room took place between Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas.
Although the rivalry is not as strong as it once was, their is still some tension between Ronaldo and club captain Ramos.
Despite his apparent loneliness, Ronaldo's team-mates are confident that his wanting to leave earlier this summer is now firmly in the past.
Ronaldo, who is on course to win the Ballon d'Or for the second season in a row, had been linked with a return to Manchester United despite leading Zinedine Zidane's team to a La Liga and Champions League double.
The superstar had been upset wit his hounding by the Spanish tax authorities, who are chasing an unpaid £13million bill over image rights.
The 32-year-old even had his yacht raided while he was on holiday in Formentera earlier this week.
Marcelo has said that despite the reports of division, the Real Madrid squad stand with Ronaldo "to the death".
The Brazilian said: "I have not spoken with Cristiano about this.
"He knows that his team-mates are with him to the death.
"When he arrives we will speak with him and see how he is."
The rest of the Real Madrid squad trained today in Los Angeles as part of their pre-season tour of the US.
Ronaldo is still on his break, but will meet up with the rest of the squad ahead of their friendly against Manchester United - and former boss Jose Mourinho - next week.
