MANCHESTER CITY have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian wonderkid Douglas Luiz for £11million, according to reports in his homeland.
The 19-year-old is thought to be one of the hottest prospects in Brazil and didn’t travel with his team-mates to face Vitoria this weekend.
report he will not immediately join up with City, and is expected to be sent on loan to Girona FC.
The Catalans, who were promoted to La Liga last season, are a sister club to the Premier League giants.
Douglas has been under observation by Pep Guardiola for over a year — and a scout travelled to watch the 1-0 victory over Atletico Goianiense on June 25.
City also monitored him at the South American Under-20s Championship.
The deal was struck immediately after the tragic derby against Flamengo, which saw one fan killed by police amid violent scenes.
Douglas was already a doubt for the clash against Vitoria, after picking up ankle injury.
