Radja Nainggolan wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea but Roma vow not to sell star player this summer
Italians have already parted ways with the likes of Mohamed Salah but are determined to keep hold of Belgian midfielder
ROMA insist that Manchester United and Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan will not be sold this summer.
The midfielder is believed to be a top target for United after another stellar season in Serie A.
Nainggolan rejected a move to Chelsea last year and remains on Antonio Conte’s shortlist.
But Roma are adamant they will not part ways with the Belgium international after a clear out under new sporting director Monchi.
The ex-Sevilla chief sanctioned the sales of key men including Mohamed Salah and Leandro Paredes last month.
While defensive duo Antonio Rudiger and Kostas Manolas are expected to join Chelsea and Zenit respectively.
However, Monchi has promised to stop wielding the axe and will instead embark on a spending spree after already landing stars including Lorenzo Pellegrini, Hector Moreno and Maxime Gonalons.
He said: “Nainggolan will definitely remain at Roma. The time of sales of important players is over. Now we build a team with options that the market provides.”
Manchester United transfer news
United and Chelsea remain keen on strengthening in the centre of the park and are now set to focus solely on other targets.
Monaco appear to be the club of choice for both, with the Blues closing in on Tiemoue Bakyoko.
However, the Red Devils are believed to be struggling with their efforts to land Fabinho.
