INTER MILAN are dreaming of making Alexis Sanchez the “poster boy” of their new era, according to reports in Italy.
The Chilean is determined to leave Arsenal as soon as possible and has demanded a staggering £400,000-a-week to stay.
Inter, meanwhile, are looking to get back to their glory days, having been bought by wealthy Chinese investors.
And report the Nerazzurri want Sanchez to be the marquee signing which proves they mean business.
The 28-year-old is also a target for Manchester City, while Bayern Munich were keen but pulled out after refusing to pay the inflated fee for a player whose contract runs out in less than 12 months.
Inter finished last season in seventh place and missed out on European football altogether.
However, next season, fourth place in Serie A will guarantee Champions League football for the first time since 2011.
Inter, who won the Treble just seven years ago, were desperate to make this an important summer — targeting a big name boss as well as superstar players.
Their Suning owners had looked at the likes of Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone.
However, a failure to qualify for even the Europa League hindered their chances somewhat.
In the end, they plumped for Luciano Spalletti from Roma.
