Gray is eyeing a huge pay-rise considering his current contract sees him pocket roughly £25,000-a-week.

Burnley appear to have a strict wage structure compared to other Prem clubs, with Robbie Brady being their highest-paid player, earning roughly £35,000-a-week.

Burnley are determined to keep hold of their asset after he was a key player last season, helping them to a 16th place finish last season.

According to , the Magpies join Everton in the race to sign the Englishman.

The Toffees are mulling over a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who looks set to depart Goodison Park this summer.

Gray could follow in the steps of Michael Keane, after he signed for Everton in a deal worth £25million, earning £100,000-a-week.

If Newcastle manage to capture Gray, the forward would join Newcastle's new recruits Florian Lejeune from Eibar and Christian Atsu from Chelsea.
