Leicester make move for striker Troy Deeney with Watford allowing him to leave if they receive £25m offer
Foxes made initial £20million bid for the striker but Watford want to make the most they can for crowd favourite Deeney, according to reports
TROY DEENEY could be set for a sensational move to Leicester City if the Foxes can stump up for Watford's £25million asking price.
The 29-year-old is a fan favourite at Vicarage Road and is their leading Premier League-era goalscorer after firing 106 goals for the club since his move from Walsall in 2010.
Deeney is from the Midlands though and is known to be keen on a move back to the region, while a switch to the 2016 Premier League champions would be no step down.
Craig Shakespeare has reignited the club's interest in Deeney after the Foxes attempted to make a swoop for him last summer.
This summer, manager Shakespeare has had an initial £20m bid turned down and the club reckon the £25m they offered last summer should now do the job, according to the .
Leicester are also resigned to losing Riyad Mahrez if a suitable bid comes in for the winger, who starred in their title-winning season.
The French-born Algerian is known to want to leave and admitted he stayed on at the King Power after they won the Premier League title to honour the club.
But now he is known to be restless and Shakespeare will see Deeney as an option to be able to cover any likely departure of the 26-year-old.
