And he revealed that the star has told his current club so too.

Camara wrote on Twitter: "From what I’m led to believe Naby has his heart set on LFC move.

"Leipzig have been informed of his intent and are looking for replacement."

Leipzig - backed by the huge wealth of Red Bull - are believed to have placed a £70 million price tag on Keita.

Despite coming up with that fee, the Bundesliga outfit are in no rush to sell.

Liverpool were aware they faced a huge task to persuade the German club to part with their prized asset.

  • Keita was born on February 10 1995 in Conakry, Guinea
  • The midfielder joined his hometown club aged nine
  • He signed for French club FC Istres in 2012 and was promoted to the first-team squad a year later
  • Keita scored 11 goals in 23 matches for the Ligue 2 side during his first season of senior football
  • Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg signed him in 2014 and he helped them to win a league and cup double
  • Last June he switched to Germany and RB Leipzig, scoring seven goals in his debut campaign
  • Keita made his international debut for Guinea against Mali in 2014 and has gone on to win 25 caps

However, Camara's words will have lifted them and Kop boss Jurgen Klopp.

They are aware that Keita has a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave for £48m next summer.

But Klopp does not want to wait that long and hopes to get him this summer.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at Pride Park – which comes after his initial loan spell in the 2013-14 season.

Wisdom, who struggled to nail down a place in Liverpool’s first team, also had loan spells at West Brom, Norwich and Red Bull Salzburg while at Anfield.
