Arsenal fear Alexis Sanchez is ready to leave for NOTHING next year if they do not sell him this summer
Arsene Wenger planning for life without Chile ace as they close in on club-record deal for Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette
ARSENAL fear star Alexis Sanchez is ready to leave for nothing next year if they do not agree to sell him this summer.
The club are planning for life without the Chile ace as they close in on a club-record deal to sign Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette.
Sanchez says he has already made a decision about his future — and will announce his plans next week.
Arsenal remain in the dark over his intentions and have not received a single bid for their 30-goal top scorer.
Sanchez, 28, is now in the final 12 months of his £140,000-a-week Emirates contract. He has been offered DOUBLE that to extend his stay.
Sanchez said: “My future is clear in my mind.
“I know what it is — but I cannot tell you at the moment.”
But Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said he will not sell to a Premier League rival.
Now Arsenal face the dilemma of overruling their manager, or forcing their star player to stay against his will — and losing him as a free agent next summer.
Sanchez is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup and will lead Chile in tomorrow’s final against Germany in Saint Petersburg.
He is not due to report back to Arsenal until the beginning of August, so will miss their tour to Australia and China.
Wenger knows he dare not lose Sanchez without having a world-class replacement ready.
