Cristiano Ronaldo getting stick from his Portugal team-mates at the Confederations Cup… for new haircut
The 32-year-old is the subject of major transfer speculation after he allegedly requested to leave Real Madrid
HE may have a lot on his mind at the moment, but Cristiano Ronaldo has been the subject of stick from his Portugal team-mates - for his new haircut.
The football world has been rocked with the news that the 32-year-old has allegedly requested to leave Real Madrid.
He is now training with Portugal as they play in the Confederations Cup, their first game is against Mexico tonight (Sunday).
But national team-mate and West Ham defender Jose Fonte has revealed it hasn't been plain sailing for the striker since he joined up with the rest of the squad.
Writing in his column on the West Ham website, Fonte said: "We are obviously used to spending time together away at tournaments, and it helps that we have a great bunch of lads and are all very close.
“There are a lot of jokers and it is a great atmosphere.
“Cristiano Ronaldo got a little bit of stick when he arrived with his new haircut, especially from Ricardo Quaresma."
The irony is Quaresma himself has gone through some rather eye-catching hairstyles himself through his impressive career.
Ronaldo, who has a host of clubs believing they can sign him if he leaves Real Madrid, said that he would shave his head if Real Madrid won the Champions League.
Speaking to Real Madrid 360, the Galactico said: "It was a promise.
“I'd promised that, if we won the Champions League and I scored a goal, I'd do it. I did it and I shaved myself."
Portugal opened their Confederations Cup campaign against Mexico today (Sunday).
