John Terry in West Brom talks as Chelsea hero considers shock move to Tony Pulis’ side
Local rivals Aston Villa were linked with a move for the ex-England captain which could have nudged Albion into action
JOHN TERRY has started talking to West Brom about extending his Premier League career, according to reports.
The Chelsea hero will be a free agent from July 1 being released by the Blues at the end of last season’s title-winning campaign.
Tony Pulis is a defensive master and has a skill for getting the best out of senior players and the Baggies boss might have been nudged into action by a golf game.
Terry was pictured enjoying a round with Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce earlier in the week, sparking speculation JT could join the Championship side.
Local rivals West Brom would not want to lose out on the marquee signing, especially not to their neighbours from a division down.
Pulis admitted in January that he had made early advances on the ex-England captain and revealed he would revisit in the summer.
He said: “It (January's enquiry) was just finding out what the situation was and then it was whether we moved on it or we didn't.

“There was no approach made, it was just finding out what the situation was, and the situation was that John wanted to stay at Chelsea.
“If he becomes available in the summer we'll sit down then and have a little think about what we've got and what we haven't got and then we'll take it from there.”
West Brom’s star man last season was goal-grabbing 37-year-old defender Gareth McAuley who could form a solid partnership with Terry.
