Everton want Davy Klaassen as Toffees eye £26.5m Ajax captain to replace Ross Barkley
Ronald Koeman has funds for summer spending splurge
EVERTON are in talks to land Ajax skipper Davy Klaassen.
The Toffees look set to lose contract rebel Ross Barkley.
And reports in Holland say that they are close to agreeing a £26.5million deal to bring in Klaassen as Barkley's replacement.
Inter Milan and Napoli are also said to be keen but the prospect of playing with Netherlands legend Ronald Koeman could swing a deal in the Toffees' favour.
Klaassen could replace Barkley, who has been handed an ultimatum over signing a new deal.
The Merseyside club are also in talks to clinch a £5.2m deal for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez.
The Toffees want the former Barcelona man and are considering triggering his release clause.
Koeman has the backing of billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri to spend big this summer.
And he could have even more in the bank if the club sell Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for around £70m.
England World Cup heroes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman are pushing to start more regularly under Koeman, along with the likes of Tom Davies.
But the Toffees boss will still need a ready-made replacement for Lukaku and believes that Sandro, 21, could fill his boots.
He netted 14 goals in La Liga last term and had been expected to move to Atletico Madrid.
But Diego Simeone's club have been slapped with a transfer ban which has dented their hopes of landing Sandro and Chelsea's Diego Costa.
