Victor Lindelof’s transfer to Man Utd appears to be confirmed as complete after Benfica wish centre-back good luck
Red Devils agreed a £35million fee for the Sweden defender last week in what will be their first summer signing
BENFICA have wished Manchester United-bound Victor Lindelof "all the best".
The Red Devils agreed a £35million fee for the Sweden centre-back last week.
And it would appear Portuguese champions Benfica have confirmed the move is complete after posting a farewell message and highlights reel of the defender.
United confirmed the club had reached a deal for Lindelof, 22, in a statement on their website.
It read: "Manchester United is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Victor Lindelof, subject to a medical examination, international clearance and personal terms.
“A further announcement will be made once the transfer is complete.”
SunSport exclusively revealed that Lindelof is expected to sign for the Old Trafford club.
A source said: “It’s a done deal. There are some very minor things to wrap up and of course the medical.
“He hasn’t wanted to allow the move to distract him from Sweden duty but he will be flying straight to Manchester after the game in Oslo on Tuesday and then undergoing his medical.”
The Sweden international played 90 minutes of his country's 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over France on Friday.
He is still away with Janne Andersson's squad as they prepare to face Norway in a friendly in Oslo tomorrow.
Lindelof came through the ranks at IK Franke in his homeland before moving to Vasteras and signing for Benfica in 2012.
