Manchester United set to seal £60million Alvaro Morata transfer with Real Madrid striker due to finalise terms on four-year deal next week
Striker keen on moving to Old Trafford after becoming frustrated with a lack of playing time at the Bernabeu
MANCHESTER UNITED are close to completing the £60million transfer of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
SunSport understands that details on a four-year contract are being finalised to land the 24-year-old Spaniard.
United are desperate for a new striker after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not retained on yesterday’s list put out by the club.
They had offered him the chance to stay on for another year but he did not think it was right to take the money while he was undergoing rehabilitation.
As it is the club have left the facilities at the Carrington training ground open to him as he comes back from his knee ligament injury.
The injury saw United change their approach from getting No10 Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid to landing and out and out striker.

“The player will take a clear and definitive decision in the coming days. I have not yet met with the representatives from Real Madrid.
“Alvaro is a player who wants to play a more important role. He wants to play more. Which is normal for an attacker who has scored 19 goals. It is too little.”
The United boss has handed Ed Woodward his summer shopping list before heading off on holiday.
Torino striker Andrea Belotti has also been linked with a big money move to Old Trafford.
And Inter Milan playmaker Ivan Perisic could be Old Trafford bound as well.
The striker sent the Old Trafford faithful into meltdown, by following Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Ibrahimovic, David de Gea, Adnan Januzaj, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney on Instagram.
