Gunners were frontrunners for 20-year-old forward after he confirmed the club had made a bid for him
WEST HAM have stolen a march on Arsenal in the race to land Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru, according to reports.
Onyekuru, 20, confirmed the Gunners had made a bid for him - and favours a move to the Emirates.
Onyekuru, who plays for Belgian side KAS Eupen, is set to fly to England on June 12 for talks with a number of club interested in him.
Arsenal and West Ham are reportedly joined by Swansea, Everton, Southampton and West Brom in their interest of the young forward.
English clubs will be able to sign Onyekuru, who idolises Gunners legend Thierry Henry, by triggering his £7.85million release.
Sources close to the hitman reckon he will definitely be a Premier League player next season.
