Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has ‘agreed terms’ to join a new club… as he follows a host of Chelsea players on social media

Belgian forward reveals he will leave Goodison Park this summer after netted an astonishing 25 goals in 2016-17 season

EVERTON striker Romelu Lukaku has 'agreed terms' to join a new club... as he follows a host of Chelsea players on social media.

The Belgian forward, 24, left the Blues in 2014 after three seasons of playing a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge.

Earlier on Tuesday, Lukaku told : "My agent knows what's going to happen and I know as well.

"I'm staying calm and we have an agreement with the club as well. We stay calm and at least we have a direction where we want to go.

"I'm just going to rest for a few days and then just prepare for next season.

"I want to put the time in on my holiday to take everything to another level and be better than I was last year."

Lukaku then told Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur staying at Everton "wasn't an option".

He claimed: "Staying at Everton? (very quiet) That's not really an option, I think."

The Belgian forward reportedly then winked and laughed when asked if he was returning to Chelsea, while adding: "No comment. We will see."

Lukaku was loaned out to West Brom and then Everton, before joining the Goodison Park outfit permanently in 2014.

But now, the lure of Champions League football - and joining the Premier League champions - appears to be too much for the Belgium ace to ignore.

Lukaku has been one of Europe's top strikers in recent seasons, with Everton doing well to keep hold of him for as long as they did.

In his three seasons at the Merseyside club, Lukaku has played all but four Premier League games, scoring 53 times in the process.

However, he had his best season yet in 2016-17 as he scored 25 times in 37 games.

Now he is set to lead the Chelsea line, with Diego Costa expected to leave the club in the summer.

Last month, Lukaku's agent Mino Raiola told : “[Lukaku] had a promise that if certain clubs came in for him this summer [he’d leave].

“We are not in concrete talks at the moment, but if the price is right for Everton and the project is right [for Lukaku] he will make another step.

“But we are not there yet.”

However, now that agreement appears to have been reached and while Manchester United had hoped to land the forward, Chelsea are favourites to be his new home.

According to reports, Lukaku has no intention in moving to Old Trafford, after Jose Mourinho made an 11th-hour bid to bring the Belgian to United.
