Eagle-eyed fans will know the German playmaker wears the number 11 at the Emirates Stadium, but could this be a signal that he is due to swap numbers at Arsenal?

Jack Wilshere currently occupies the number 10 for Wenger's men, but his future at the club remains unclear having been shipped off to Bournemouth for the entire Premier League campaign.

The former Real Madrid man donned the number 10 at the Bernabeu and often wears the number when on international duty, but hasn't been called up by Joachim Low for the upcoming Confederations Cup.

Ozil is believed to be deep in negotiations over a new contract, where he has been offered a whopping £280,000-a-week deal in attempt to to persuade him to stay.

Along with Alexis Sanchez who also has just 12 months remaining, the pair are believed to be frustrated that the Gunners have failed to mount a serious title charge in the past few seasons.

This campaign has saw Ozil bang in 12 goals - his most in a season for the club, as he helped Arsenal claim their third FA Cup in the last four years.
