Manchester City close in on £40milllion swoop for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker
Pep Guardiola is confident a deal can be struck for the England international before the end of the month, according to reports
MANCHESTER CITY are close to completing their £40million swoop for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker.
Pep Guardiola had made the England international one of his main summer transfer targets as he looks to get his squad back challenging for the title.
And the are now reporting a deal will be done after the Three Lions' games with France and Scotland.
Walker's family are from Sheffield and he is believed to want to move to Manchester to be closer to them.
The Manchester City boss has Walker, 26, in his sights after lashing out £43m for Monaco playmaker Bernardo Silva on Friday.
Guardiola is looking at his full-back areas after allowing Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy to leave on free transfers.

Walker has been a key part of Spurs’ title challenges in the last two seasons and has also established himself in the England squad.
But he wanted to consider his options at the end of the season after eight years at White Hart Lane.
City are also keeping tabs on Jerome Boateng’s situation at Bayern Munich.
The German outfit fear Boateng, a former City player, could quit this summer.
Guardiola worked with the 28-year-old centre-back when he was in charge at Bayern.
