Hector Bellerin and Arda Turan set for swap as Barcelona spark transfer spree under new coach Ernesto Valverde after rivals Real won second consecutive Champions League title
HECTOR BELLERIN could be swapped for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan after the midfielder 'agreed' to join Arsene Wenger's side.
The Spain international has hurtled to the top of the shopping list of new Barca coach Ernesto Valverde after he took over at the Catalan club.
Bellerin was born and brought up in Barcelona, meaning a move to his hometown club would make sense.
But that would leave some seriously disappointed Arsenal fans, who have seen Bellerin as the future of the club - and even a future captain.
Spanish daily newspaper led with a page lead about Valverde giving the green light on a move for the 22-year-old.
And with the new boss keen to overhaul the Nou Camp defence, Bellerin could fill the void so clearly felt since the departure of Dani Alves for beaten Champions League finalists Juventus.
Barca are, meanwhile, willing to cash in on Turan - and it sets up the possibility of a swap deal between the two clubs.
The Turkish international wants to move to London this summer, but Barca are holding out for £26m.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of the 30-year-old for a number of years, and has eyed a switch for him in the past.
The Gunners chief is trying to reduce Barca's valuation of Turan, and may get his wish as they want to get rid of the Atletico Madrid ace.
Turan started just 15 matches in La Liga and the Champions League this season, in what was a frustrating campaign.
