Cristiano Ronaldo handed man-of-the-match award for Champions League final win by ‘boss’ Sir Alex Ferguson
Two-goal genius helped his side retain Europe's top trophy before Fergie handed him a personal accolade
CRISTIANO RONALDO landed the Champions League final man-of-the-match award from former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Portuguese master had a quiet start to the clash with Juventus in Cardiff but he eventually lit up the match with two goals in the 4-1 win.
Fergie was the man who helped turn the once skinny winger into one of the world's best footballers and the Madrid striker still affectionately calls his retired mentor "boss".
Ron now has 105 Champions League goals and is the star man in a side that has now won three out of the last four tournaments to make it a dozen wins in total.
But he still wanted the few remaining critics of his frightening success to take note of his freakish achievements.
He did that with aplomb and the celebrations afterwards were a real family affair.
Ronaldo's mum Dolores was there to watch her son and celebrate with after.
And the superstar's girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, who is rumoured to be pregnant, took to the Principality Stadium pitch with Cristiano Jr to enjoy the scenes.
A chuffed Ronaldo said after: "This is one of the best moments of my career but it seems I am able to say that every year.
"People won't be able to criticise me because the numbers don't lie.
"It was a spectacular end to the season with La Liga and the Champions League."
