YAYA TOURE sent a heartfelt message to his fans after penning his new Manchester City deal.

The Ivorian ace, 34, has hailed the "unbelievable" support he's received in his seven years at the club and pinpointed the Etihad crowd as a crucial factor in his decision.

Toure looked to be on his way out of City at the start of last season when Pep Guardiola froze him out after comments from his agent.

But he made a memorable comeback in November against Crystal Palace, netting both goals in a 2-1 win at Selhurt Park.

Toure wrote himself into City folklore with his FA Cup winning goal against Stoke in 2011, going on to win two Prem titles.

And fans were desperate to see him sign a new deal after he reestablished himself in Guardiola's team for the second half of the season.

Now he has done just that - on wages thought to be less than half of the £230,000 a week he was on.

The former Barcelona ace said: "It means a lot when fans have a lot of love for you and always support you.

"They always wanted me to stay at the club and enjoy it with me. Every time I step on to the field they’re singing my name as well.

"Not a lot of things can beat it. It makes you so happy.

"I’ve been at different clubs and had the respect of the fans but the fans of City have been the most important ones I’ve had in my career.

"I’m very delighted to stay. They have two or three [songs for me]. That’s unbelievable.

"To feel that and hear that when you step on the field. To have such respect of the fans and to be so supportive.

"In any difficult moment the fans are massive for me. They are the most important people."
