ARSENAL will reportedly rival neighbours Tottenham for Monaco forward Thomas Lemar this summer.

The Gunners want to get their summer transfer business done early after confirming Arsene Wenger will be staying on as manager for another two years.

Wenger has already tabled an £87million bid for Monaco hitman Kylian Mbappe.

And according to , they are preparing to table another big offer for his team-mate Lemar.

They will face bitter competition from North London rivals Spurs for the winger.

Lemar’s impressive displays helped his side to clinch the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League last season.

But he has still yet to agree a new deal with the French champions, and although he is under contract until 2020, he is said to be tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal’s record of developing young French talent in the past could help swing the balance in their favour should Lemar leave.

However, their lack of Champions League football could hinder their chances of landing the 21-year-old.

It looks like Arsenal mean business this summer as they attempt to get themselves back into the title picture next season.

Their reported blockbuster move for Mbappe has certainly raised eyebrows.

Discussing his future last week, the 18-year-old said: “There is an awful lot of time ahead to think about all that.

“There are three important matches coming up [for France], I will take stock after.

“Why would I play less? [If he moved away from Monaco]. I will have the time to think about all that, but no, I am not afraid of leaving.”
