Manchester City old boy Maicon returns to Brazil with Avai FC after a season out of football
Former Roma right-back who won a treble with Inter Milan under Jose Mourinho is delighted to be back in his home country

FORMER Manchester City star Maicon has joined Brazilian club Avai after a season out of football.
The ex-Inter and right-back, 35, was unveiled in his home country by the top-flight club today.
Maicon rejected a move to the USA in favour of Avai, according to .
His new team have drawn once and lost their other two league games after three weeks of the new season in Brazil.
Avai announced Maicon's arrival on Twitter, where he revealed his delight to be playing again.
He moved away from Brazil in 2004 when he left Cruzeiro for Monaco.
But his peak period was six years with Inter, where he won the treble under current Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho in 2010.
Maicon then played just nine games for Roberto Mancini's City after a £3million move in 2012.
He switched to Roma on his 32nd birthday but after leaving Italy in June last year he was without a club until today.
