Diego Costa reveals ‘I could be leaving’ Chelsea and wants Everton star Romelu Lukaku as replacement
Lukaku is top of Chelsea summer shopping list but Everton could demand £100million for the striker they paid Chelsea £28m for three years ago
DIEGO COSTA has urged Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku after admitting that he could on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard was reportedly close to a move to the Chinese Super League in January but is now keen on making a return to Atletico Madrid.
With Blues boss Antonio Conte looking to bolster his squad for a Champions League tilt and Premier League title defence, Costa refused to commit on his future after the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal.
Toffees' striker Lukaku is top of Conte's summer shopping list and a potential deal for the Belgian hitman could be financed by selling Costa.
The Brazil-born striker who joined Chelsea for £32million in 2014 is hopeful the club can pull out the stops to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge this summer.
"Of course Lukaku is a very big player who played an impressive season. I hope he can sign at Chelsea because it’s a unique club.”
Michy Batshuayi, who has rallied with four Premier League goals in the final three games of a disappointing debut season, could also be on his way out.
Costa, with 22 goals last season, added: “He is a big player and has an impressive future for himself, the past matches have proven that he has quality and scoring ability.
“He is a boy who will take great steps, hopefully he will continue to grow.
"He has all the qualities to stay here, Batshuayi may stay because he’s young and I could be leaving."
