The Portuguese has long been an admirer of the winger cum second striker - and the 28-year-old is set to snub Paris Saint-Germain to move to Manchester.

A host of clubs were after him, with PSG considering a swap deal with Inter to see Angel Di Maria go the other way.
And Inter themselves want to get rid to try and free up funds for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez - another target for United.
But report Perisic has his heart set on Old Trafford and all parties are keen on a deal being done after a fine season in Serie A where he scored 10 goals and created six assists.

Perisic joined from Wolfsburg in 2015 for £17m, so they are set to make a profit as they revamp their squad following a Chinese takeover.
While Jose Mourinho said in the close season that United executive Ed Woodward will handle transfers this summer, Football Italia claim that Mourinho personally helped broker this deal.
Further to that, they say Perisic has already agreed personal terms for a four year deal at United worth £6m per season.
Yet Italian journalist Matteo Pedrosi says there is a sticking point on the fee, as while £36m is their preferred fee, Inter want a whopping £44m for their Croatian star.
