MARSEILLE are stepping up their bid to sign Laurent Koscielny.

And they have sounded out the 31-year-old’s interest in a move back to his homeland.

Koscielny’s Emirates contract still has three years to run so it would take a mega-bid of £30million-plus for the Gunners to even consider selling.

But that will also test Koscielny’s desire to stay at the club he joined from Lorient in 2010.

He has worn the captain’s armband while skipper Per Mertesacker has been out injured this season.

But he missed the FA Cup final after his red card against Everton on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
